(Oslo, October 3, 2006) Per Høiby has been appointed as the new CEO for JKL in Oslo. He will succeed Kjell S. Rakkenes, who is assuming new leadership responsibilities for the Nordic area.
Per Høiby joined JKL Oslo in April, after serving as a military advisor for the Minister of Defence. He has extensive experience from his various roles in communication and politics, as well as considerable leadership experience.
“This is an active, planned decision for the JKL Group’s business strategy in Norway and the Nordic countries. Per has both operative and advisory leadership experience in the communication area. In addition, he has a strong network, which is important when you work with strategic communication,” says Anders Kempe, CEO of the JKL Group.
Per Høiby (1962) is a senior advisor at JKL Oslo. Per has both broad and specialized experience as an advisor in the area of crisis communication and strategic communication from the military. He has served as a military advisor under two defence ministers - Kristin Krohn Devold (Conservative Party) and Anne-Grete Strøm-Erichsen(Labour Party). He has four year’s experience as a press spokesperson for the Chief of Defence. Per Høiby has also worked for three years as an aide to His Majesty the King, and has studied management, economy and logistics at The Royal Naval Academy.
“I’m impressed over the competence and energy typical for a JKL consultant, so I am very happy to have this new leadership position,” says Per Høiby. Lotte Grepp Knutsen and Lars. N. Saethre will continue as team leaders and members of the management group in JKL Oslo.
Kjell S. Rakkenes has been the CEO of the company since 2004, and has brought about a successful restructuring of the group’s organisation, strategy and finances. JKL Oslo is a company with a strong and profitable development. Kjell S. Rakkenes will now be the chairman for JKL Group in Norway with a specific responsibility to develop the group’s strategy for establishing the Nordic brands, JKL and MS&L. Rakkenes will continue as a Nordic Partner in the JKL Group.
“Kjell has made JKL Oslo into one of the strongest strategic communication consultancies in Norway. It is natural to use his competence for the benefit of the entire Nordic area. He will now have an overarching responsibility for JKL Group’s activities and strategy in Norway,” says Kempe.
JKL Group has two companies in Norway: JKL Oslo, a consultancy for strategic communication, and MS&L, a company focused on marketing PR.
The international newsletter, the Holmes Report, has chosen JKL as the 2006 “Nordic Consultancy of the Year” in its ranking of communication consultancies in Europe.
